Teacher Communications: Manage and select recipients

This article explains the recipient selection options available to teachers in Messages XR Enterprise Teacher Communications, including searching individually, sending to groups, and selecting predefined class rosters.

💡Quick answers

  • How many ways can teachers select recipients in Teacher Communications? There are three options: search individual recipients by name, send to a pre-created group from the Groups tab, or select from predefined class rosters.
  • Sending a message to an entire class at once? In the To field, expand All classes in the right panel, hover over your class, and click Open list to select the full class roster.
  • Can teachers include administrators or other staff members as recipients? Yes, the Search recipients field lets teachers find and add individual admins, fellow teachers, or other staff by name.

Option #1: Search recipients 

Click into the Search recipients field where you can start typing the name of those you'd like to include as recipients. This is great for communicating with individual parents, or when you need to cc or include your message to an administrator, fellow teacher, or other staff member.

When you want to send to larger groups, consider one of the other two options below. 

Option #2: Send to groups

The first option on the left in the To field is to select from Groups.Your groups allow you to segment your recipients and know exactly who your messages are going to, ensuring that no one is left out. You can create and manage your groups in the Groups tab in your Messages area.

Once you are ready, you can expand out the Open List button to view and select your Groups

Option #3: Select predefined classes 

On the right panel where you see a folder hierarchy starting with All classes, you will see the classes that belong to you.

  • Expand out the options under All classes.
  • Hover over and click Open list to view more.
  • Check the box next to any class you'd like to include in your recipients.

Once you select your recipients, you can be assured that the right people are getting your messages!
