Before you can send messages out to your different school social media accounts, these accounts must be configured in your Settings > Social Media tab. Once connected and successfully configured, these social media accounts can be selected as destinations where you can send messages and post communication out for your school community!
This article exists to provide School Administrators and Principals with everything they need to communicate via the Messages XR Enterprise platform and help their community stay engaged and connected.
This article will show you how to add social media accounts and configure the settings so that they are successfully connected and able to be used.
Settings > Social Media Accounts overview and tour
This screen shows any school campus or location where you have administrative permissions / roles, including a status column for each different social media brand: Facebook, X/Twitter, and Instagram.
Navigate to Settings in the left navigation panel. Click on the Social media tab within Settings.

Mandatory Facebook and Twitter reauthentication
Facebook/Meta and Twitter/X require a reauthentication process every two months. This mandatory reauthentication is essential for maintaining security, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing account access amid staff changes. It helps protect sensitive information and aligns with platform policies to prevent unauthorized access.
How do I know if I need to reauthenticate?
Do you see a small ! icon next to any of your accounts associated with a certain social media account? This is a sign that the account needs to be reauthenticated in order to successfully connect.
Here’s how to reauthenticate your Facebook account:
- Click the Social Media button. Open the account that you’d like to reauthenticate.
- Find the Reauthenticate button in the bottom left corner of the social media account’s window
- When you click Reauthenticate, you be asked to enter your account credentials.
- Click Done. Now, messages can be posted to this account once again.
