Configure global settings

Global settings is where you will configure some very foundational details for your Messages XR Enterprise platform.

From the Global Settings you can configure:

  • Links to your cafeteria and library balance systems.
  • Passwords basics.
  • Default language.
  • Delivery times for messages.
  • User authentication methods.
  • Delivery preferences for messages.
  • School term dates.
  • Grade scale.
  • Web interface style.
  • Triggers for automated messages.

Here's how it works!

Navigate to Settings > Global settings

Once you are in your platform, click to open up Settings in the left navigation area, then select the Global settings tab across the top of your screen.

  • Virtual host name: View the URL that leads to your platform.
  • Cafeteria pay link: Once you have created a cafeteria balance pay system on a third-party site, paste the URL here for parents of your school or district community to be able to access.
  • Library link: Type the library balance site URL here once you have configured a third-party library balance software to notify families when books are due and for paying any late fines.
  • Admin app: Check to select the default setting where anyone using the CommHQ Admin app will be automatically logged out after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  • Master level grades: Select this option to grade classes based on how well students have mastered the material.
  • Passwords: Decide how long the minimum required length will be for any created passwords.
  • Default language: Select your default language from the dropdown.
  • Compact system messages: Check this box to not include header and footer information in messages. The default is set to not include header and footer prompts in messaging.
  • Delivery blackout: Select the time range from when messages will not be sent.
    • No messages will be delivered during the blackout period unless overridden by the sender.
    • Some districts set a blackout time when the system is being updated by the Student Information System (SIS).
    • Emergency messaging can override the delivery blackout time to ensure that urgent messages can reach your community.
  • Teachers: Determine whether or not teachers can have access to student's contact information, such as email address or phone numbers.
    • Select Allow teachers to view student contact information to allow teachers access to this information.
  • Welcome Email Message: Check this box to enable sending welcome emails on account creation.
