Teacher Communications overview

Teacher Communications has been designed specifically for educators, enabling them to efficiently communicate with individual students, entire classes, multiple classes, or parents. This system allows teachers to send regular or pre-made messages via email, text/SMS messages, and if turned on for your district, phone messages.

This article exists to provide District Administrators, School Administrators, and Principals with everything they need to understand how the Teacher Communications platform works.

This platform offers great benefits for teachers including:

  • a selection of pre-crafted messages organized into teacher-specific categories, allowing targeted communication based on the message subject.
  • the flexibility to create personalized messages to best suit their needs.
  • class rosters automatically available in the Messages area to allow for immediate sending of communication.

Teacher message-sending workflow

With Teacher Communications, teachers can send scheduled or pre-made updates through Email, SMS/Text message, and, (if supported by their district), Voice calls

Create and send messages

On the Messages screen, educators can type or paste their own content and choose to send it via Email, Text/SMS, or, if permitted by the district administrator, as a Voice message.

Send out pre-made messages

Select a pre-made message from folders that live in the Saved messages area that are set up to include expansive list of topics, targeting students, classes, or groups. Certain pieces of information within the messages are swapped out for the specific details of the district.

Some examples of pre-made messages are:

  • Academic and classroom Progress: Updates on student achievement, grades, major assignments, and upcoming tests
  • Behavior and expectations: Notes on class conduct, phone use, and improvements in student behavior
  • Events and activities: Highlights from field trips, awards, student recognitions, and sports or club updates
  • Parent communication: Information about supplies, progress reports, conferences, fundraisers, and schedule changes.

This is great for teachers, coaches, and other school staff to communicate with available options that cover a wide range of school issues. Learn more about how to send pre-made messages in the article, "Teacher Communications: Create and send a message in the section, "Send a pre-made message."
