Restricting recipient counts: How the Limited use setting controls a user's messaging volume

The Limited Use setting in Messages XR Enterprise is a crucial feature designed to manage and restrict the volume of external communication initiated by certain users. This control is specifically useful for organizations that need to prevent the accidental or unauthorized sending of mass messages.

How Limited use works

The Limited use checkbox can be selected on a user's account profile when configuring a user's settings. This, as a result, immediately imposes a strict technical constraint on that user's messaging capability.

Important Note

The Limited use feature is turned on by default for all accounts created through SIS imports and will need to be disabled should you wish for a user or users to send messaging out for more than 10 recipients at a time.

Adjust Limited use one account at a time

Admins can check the box next to the setting in a user's Account profile labeled Limited use to

Once checked, this user is prevented from sending a single message to more than 10 recipients at one time.

This setting effectively preserves the purpose of the platform for targeted, operational communications rather than large-scale broadcasts or mass marketing emails.

Adjust Limited use in bulk

Did you know that you can apply the Limited use control to more than one user at a time in the Staff report area?

  • Enable or disable limited use within the Staff Report results.
  • Check the boxes next to all staff members whose Limited use setting you would like to configure.
  • Click a bulk action button to perform the selected action.

Learn more about how this works by reading, "Complete Bulk Actions in Staff Report results."
