Manage the Generate passwords tab

This is a wonderful feature allowing you to generate a list of new passwords for those who need assistance with getting logged in for the first time.

Here’s how to generate new passwords for selected individuals or for large groups of users.

Step 1: Select the Generate passwords tab

Navigate to the Generate passwords tab.

Step 2: Configure your settings

Now you will make selections that will determine the users for whom you will generate passwords.

• Select a Filter to narrow the accounts that will receive new passwords.
• Narrow the accounts with the following criteria:
  • those that do not have a password
  • those that have not logged in since a specific date or time
  • OR set no filters (which will then pull all passwords from the selected groups/ accounts in the next step).
• Select one or more accounts: Here you can expand out your hierarchy of accounts to select one or all of the groups.
• Search field: Don’t see the group or accounts you’re looking for? Enter the name or group name into the search field.
• Selected accounts (click to remove): Once you select a group or groups, you’ll see those appearing in the “Selected accounts” panel on the right. This is a great way to confirm which you have selected.
• Clear List: Click this button to remove all of the selected accounts. Otherwise click them one by one to remove individually.
• Click Next - Options when you are ready to submit your filter options. Then you can see how many accounts are selected.

Step 3: Confirm your action

Another screen will display where you can confirm the passwords that will be generated. It’s very important to slow down and confirm that the information appearing is accurate.

Step 4: Confirm success when the page displays your results

• A “Loading status” message will display until the task is complete.
• The next page will display a list of names of the account owners, with their login IDs and passwords.
